"PANAMBUR BEACH"




Panambur beach is one of the cleanest and well maintained beach in mangalore. Panambur Beach is safewhen compared to other beaches in mangalore. Many life gaurds have been appointed for the safety purpose and their successful in their job. Death rate has been reduced after the appointment of life gaurds and this is why it mainly attracts tourists. There are many tourist attractions in Panambur, like camel rides and carnivals organized by the district authorities in order to entertain the visitors. The carnivals are particularly popular during the summer holidays as they help in entertaining the local children.

There are boat rides and boat races, kite flying contests held during the kite festival, air shows and sand-sculpture contests that keep the holiday crowd happy and entertained. The best season to visit Panambur is between October and February, after the rains and before summer starts. Summers can be hot and humid here. "YAKSHAGANA"





YakshaGana is theater form that combines dance, music, dialogue, costume, make up and stage techniques with unique style and form. The word Yaksha Gana means the songs of the Demi gods. Yaksha means demi god and gana means song.Yaksha Gana is basically famous in south canara district . It is believed to have originated in the coastal districts of Karnataka mainly in South canara and Udupi district.

  We can say Yaksha Gana as a play, music, dance, drama. It includes everything in it. The performers wear interesting and colourful wears .The lead singer in Yaksha Gana is known as Bagawatha. Group of musicians are called as himmela and the dance and drama group is called as mummela. The himmela team will use Maddale, harmonium and chande.

     Yaksha Gana is not only famous in South canara but also in uttarakarnata, Udupi, shimoga and kasargod. Now a day Yaksha Gana becomes popular in all over Karnataka and also in the world. Traditionally Yaksha Gana runs all night.

   Yaksha Gana is finding new popularity outside India. Professional troupes of yaksha Gana is called as mela. These mela's will travel together. A yaksha Gana performance typically begins in the twilight hours with an initial beating of the drums of several fixed composition called abbara or peetike .This may last for up to an hour before the actors finally arrive on the stage.

      Now a day Yaksha Gana viewers are reduced because earlier there were no TV, no mobile and no internet. So the people were entertained only by yakshagana , drama etc. But today as the technology grown people are busy in that only. But we should give importance to yakshagana also.
